Privacy Policy — Mybina Snap

Last updated 3 September 2026

The short version. Mybina Snap pays you to photograph construction sites. To do that we need your phone number, your name, IC and bank details so we can pay you, and your GPS location at the moment you submit a photo or search for nearby jobs — never in the background. Your photos become ours to publish on MyBina once we approve and pay for them. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not track you between jobs.

1. Who we are

Focus Jadeline Sdn Bhd operates MyBina (www.mybina.com.my) and the Mybina Snap runner app. We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions, corrections or deletion requests: bestinfo@mybina.com.my.

This policy covers the Mybina Snap app only. The MyBina website and the Mybina Go member app are covered by the policy at www.mybina.com.my/privacy.php.

2. What we collect, and why

DataWhy we need it
Phone number and password Your account. The password is stored only as a one-way hash — nobody at MyBina can read it.
Full name, IC number, bank name and account number To pay you, and to make sure one person does not run several accounts. Required before you can claim or submit a job; you can browse without them. Your IC is stored so it can be checked for duplicates, and is never shown to other users.
Location (GPS) Only while the app is open and only at three moments: when you search for jobs near you, when you submit photos (to record how far you were from the site), and when you report a project that is not in our database or correct a wrong map pin. We do not collect background location and the app does not ask for it.
Photos you submit, and the information inside them The images themselves, plus the file's own metadata — capture time and, if your camera saved one, the coordinates. We read these to check that a photo was taken at the site and is not a re-used older photo. Photos are also fingerprinted (a short mathematical summary of the image) so the same photo cannot be submitted twice for payment.
Job activity Which projects you claimed, saved, submitted, reported or corrected, when, and the outcome and amount of each review. This is your earnings record.
Push notification token To tell you when a submission is approved, rejected or paid. Remove it by turning notifications off, or by logging out.
Device and session data Platform (Android/iOS), login time, last activity and IP address, kept with your login session for security and abuse investigation.

We do not collect your contacts, your call or SMS records, your browsing history, your advertising ID, or your photo library beyond the images you choose to attach.

3. How your photos are used

  • Every submission is reviewed by a person before anything happens to it.
  • If we approve and pay for a photo, it may be published on MyBina against the relevant project and shown to our subscribers, and may be reused in later editions of that project. You grant us that right when you submit.
  • Rejected photos are kept as part of the review record so decisions can be checked and so the same image cannot be resubmitted.
  • We do not want people in your photos. Photograph the site, not passers-by or workers.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. It is disclosed only:

  • to our bank, to make your payment;
  • to Expo / Google Firebase, which deliver push notifications (they receive the notification text and your device token, not your identity documents);
  • to our hosting provider, which stores the data on our behalf;
  • where the law, a court, or a regulator requires it.

Approved photos are shown publicly to MyBina subscribers. Your name, phone, IC and bank details are never shown with them.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account and payment records — for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as Malaysian tax and accounting rules require us to keep records of payments made.
  • Approved photos — indefinitely, as part of the project record on MyBina.
  • Rejected submissions and their photo fingerprints — kept as part of the anti-fraud record.
  • Login sessions — expire automatically 60 days after login, and immediately when you log out.

6. Security

  • All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
  • Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never in readable form.
  • Access to IC and bank details is limited to the staff who process payments.
  • The app has no ability to change any project record. Everything you submit — photos, new-project reports, map-pin corrections — is a proposal that a MyBina reviewer must approve.

7. Your rights

Under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete your account. Write to bestinfo@mybina.com.my from the phone number or email on your account.

Deleting your account. You do not have to wait for us. Open the Profile tab in the app and tap Delete my account, or, if you have already uninstalled it, use the account deletion form on our website. Either one takes effect immediately.

Two limits worth stating plainly: photos we have already approved, paid for and published stay published, and records of payments already made are kept for as long as the tax rules require. Everything else is removed when you close your account.

8. Children

Mybina Snap is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone younger. If you believe we do, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we update this page and the date at the top. Material changes are also announced in the app.
